About Miapolo

Kelly, The creator of Miapolo, studied two martial arts, BJJ and Kajukenbo. To help himself remember certain moves he formed his own Kata and found that when he applied the kata to African rhythms he was able to lose weight extremely quick while having fun and learning valuable skills.

ABOUT MIAPOLO

MIAPOLO IS A NEW CONCEPT IN FITNESS THAT MATCHES AFRICAN DANCE AND SELF DEFENSE.

AFRICAN DANCE :

With Miapolo you do sports and have fun at the same time to african rythms. The dance is a mix between contemporary and tradtionnal african dance. Everyone can dance. From ages 7 to 77 because the steps are very easy to learn. The dance is also beautiful to watch.

FITNESS :

The dance is designed to shapen nd strengthen differents parts of the body (butt, legs, belly..) and boosts weight loss and keeps you healthy.

SELF DEFENSE :

The choreography is african dance moves with hidden self defense techniques. The dance practices these moves repetitiously so that the dancer develops muscle memory so in a self defense situation the moves would be applied automatically Miapolo means "we're going to kick you" in EWE (Togolese language)
